Video Embed Feature in Forms

Overview:

The proposed feature aims to enhance the interactivity of forms by allowing form creators to embed videos directly within the form for respondents to view.

Detailed Request:

Introduce a feature within the form builder that allows form creators to embed videos that respondents can watch directly within the form. This will be especially beneficial for training modules, tutorials, or any instance where a visual aid can enhance understanding.

How Should It Work:

  1. Within the form builder, introduce a new field type called "Video Embed."

  2. Form creators can either paste a link from external video hosts (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) or upload a video directly.

  3. The embedded video should be viewable directly within the form, without redirecting respondents to external sites.

  4. Ensure compatibility with various device types and browsers and provide an intuitive interface for form creators to embed videos.

Implication & Need:

  • Embedding videos directly within forms can significantly enhance the respondent's experience, especially in scenarios where visual aids are crucial.

  • Whether it's a training module, a tutorial, or a visual guide, embedded videos can provide clarity and context to respondents.

Use Cases:

  • Training Modules: "View the video tutorial below and then proceed to answer the subsequent questions."

  • Feedback Forms: "Watch the product demo and provide your feedback in the following section."

Developer Note/Suggestion:

  • While embedding videos can enhance user experience, it's essential to consider storage and bandwidth implications, especially if allowing direct video uploads. It might be beneficial to set a limit on the video size or duration.

  • Additionally, if videos are hosted externally (e.g., on YouTube or Vimeo), ensure that the embedding functionality is compatible and that videos play seamlessly within the form.

P.S. Note to Developer - This item shares similarities with these other two requests:
