User Display Order on Web Portal

Overview:

The proposed feature aims to enhance the user experience by improving the functionality of changing the user order in the Week View of the Scheduler on the Web Portal.

Detailed Request:

The current method of changing the user order in the Week View of the Scheduler can be challenging. Users have reported issues where attempting to change the order of one user inadvertently affects another. Additionally, there have been instances where users tried to sort an individual into a different group, but the system did not reflect the change. The process can be especially tedious when sorting technicians by criteria such as Employment Status, Training Level, and Seniority, especially when new team members are added.

How Should It Work:

1. Introduce a drag-and-drop functionality, similar to the Schedule Content Editor, for rearranging the user order in the Week View of the Scheduler.

2. Clicking on the arrows or user names should allow users to drag and position them in the desired order.

3. Ensure that the drag-and-drop functionality only affects the selected user and does not inadvertently rearrange other users.

4. Allow drag-and-drop reordering of groups in addition to individual users.

5. Provide an option for users to select which group they display under, especially if they are assigned to multiple groups.

Implication & Need:

Having a more intuitive and user-friendly method of rearranging users and groups in the Scheduler is crucial for efficient team management. Given that different team members might have varying view requirements and sorting criteria, a flexible and reliable method of rearranging users and groups can significantly improve the user experience and reduce potential frustrations.

Use Case:

Consider a scenario where an individual is assigned to both Group A and Group B. The user might prefer to see this individual under Group B; however, the system currently displays them under Group A. The proposed feature would address this by allowing users to specify the preferred group display for individuals assigned to multiple groups.
