Autosave for Invoices/Quotes

We've received a suggestion for implementing Autosave functionality for Invoices and Quotes within the Formitize mobile app, and we're extending this request to include a review of the Web Portal for any potential gaps in autosaving functionality.

Objective:

Ensure an Autosave process for Invoices and Quotes across both the mobile app and the Web Portal to prevent data loss, increase efficiency, and streamline the user experience.

Feature Details:

• Autosave Process:

  • Implement an autosave system that periodically saves the user's progress when entering data into invoices and quotes, similar to the Forms functionality.

  • If the user navigates away or attempts to close the invoice/quote without saving, a prompt will appear asking, "Are you saving and exiting or just exiting?" to confirm the user's intent and ensure no work is lost.

• Save / Save & Exit Options:

  • These features would complement the existing Save and Save & Exit buttons, providing additional safety for user input, even when multitasking or navigating away from the app or web portal.

• Consistency Across Platforms:

  • Ensure this autosave functionality is consistent across both the Mobile App and the Web Portal, ensuring the same safeguards apply no matter where the user is working.

Justification:

• Increased Efficiency: Reduces the risk of losing important invoice/quote data due to distractions, app navigation, or system errors.

• Improved User Experience: Provides peace of mind for users working in fast-paced environments, knowing their progress is saved automatically.

• Enhanced Flexibility: Users can switch between app sections or leave the page on the Web Portal without the fear of losing unsaved data.

Note:

While the request initially focused on the mobile app, we recommend a review of the Web Portal to ensure the same autosave functionality is applied consistently across both platforms. This will provide a more cohesive user experience and prevent data loss in either environment.
